CUSTOMER REVIEWS
It's a compass! Posted: 27 August 2010
Realy very little to say about it. It is an easy to use compass. It's easy to read, asorted scales and the easy grip mean that there is no problem in setting bearings. If I lost it I would buy the same model again.
Great piece of kit Posted: 20 July 2010
As always a fast delivery from Amazon. The compass worked exactly as expected. Caution!! Becareful where you store it. I left mine in my rucksack leaning against my filing cabinet, when I went to use it the polarity had reversed. It turns out that the cabinet has a forcefield of it's own. One wrecked compass.
Reliable compass Posted: 26 April 2010
An easy to use compass and made with quality in mind. The compass needle is very accurate and reliable, the most important feature!
Good solid first training compass Posted: 20 April 2010
Bought these for teaching the Scouts map reading. I prefer the longer base plate of these over the Silva Field 7 compass. Slightly easier to handle as well. Supplied Cord is much too short to wear round your neck and use on a map, but this applies to all Silva compasses. Great Product. Recommended.
silva compass ranger 3 Posted: 08 April 2010
i personaly like the size of this compass its not quite a "shortie" compass nor is it large and cumbersome like many. a nice little feature of this compass is that the bessel (bit that you twist!) has a nice rubber rim thats comfortable and grippy even with frozen fingers! i've used this compass on dartmoor where it held up nicly even in the cold. the only thing i have done to improve my compass is replace the neck strap that SILVA supply with a stonger, heavy duty strap. (i will say there was nothing wrong with the strap just it looked abit thin!)
